RacismoMX represents the Mexican chapter in the North American Partnership for Equity and Racial Justice and is a civil society organization working to address and dismantle systemic racism in Mexico through education, research, and public engagement. It empowers future antiracist leaders through capacity-building, produces data-driven research and reports on the impact of racism—particularly within the justice system—and leads innovative awareness campaigns to promote racial literacy. RacismoMX collaborates with public, private, and social institutions (nationally and internationally) to advance an antiracist, intersectional, and human rights-centered approach to working towards lasting social transformation. RacismoMX’ Executive Director is also a member of the Group of Eminent Experts of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, and has reported for the Latin American and Caribbean region in Geneva and in New York.
Here is just some of RacismoMX’ trailblazing work:
The National Agenda against Racism
Partnering with over 60 civil society organizations representing concerns of Indigenous, Afro-Mexican, migrant and people of colour in Mexico, RacismoMX formed a coalition of anti-racist organizations which developed the 2024 National Agenda Against Racism, a landmark document featuring 20 policy recommendations. Building on its momentum, RacismoMX is now developing The Anti-Racist City—a proposal to embed antiracist principles into city-level policymaking by addressing how urban environments perpetuate systemic racism and colonial legacies.
Research Reports
RacismoMX prioritizes research and the dissemination of knowledge to effectively address systemic and structural racism. By producing and sharing evidence-based findings, RacismoMX ensures that policymakers, institutions, and the public have access to critical information on how racism operates in Mexico. This approach supports more informed, effective, and accountable decision-making. All published research is freely accessible on the RacismoMX website to encourage dialogue, deepen understanding, and drive antiracist action.
